The Shadow Pub which is also known as the Shadow Bar and Shadow Cafe is a bar located on 41 Dong Du Street in District 1. The bar recently relocated to Dong Du Street from 56 Mac Thi Buoi Street back in January 2007. Friendly English speaking staff, reasonable prices and great food make this bar very popular with expats and tourists alike. If you’re looking for a bar without the pushy staff, has music playing at a reasonable volume or just some place where you can have a chat without having to scream then this is the place for you.

nice place. quite regular. table around which the locals huddle. diffictult to meet new people that way. only the people occupying the tables around you are avaliable. a few working girls but not too many. if this is your style this is not the place. if this is not your style beware of the too easy girls. then again vietnamese girls like foreigneirs so don’t be too suspicious of evey girl looking your way. overall a nice place. depends on what you’re looking for. if you’re with friends and want to have a good time with them alone it’s good. if your’re looking to meet new people this is probably not the place

This was my favourite place when I was here in 2007. I just returned to Saigon yesterday to discover that it’s been closed and replaced with a place called “Zanzibar”. The atmosphere is not at all the same … what a shame!
